This is a question we’ve had to answer a million times… the short answer is “come try one of our free group classes and see for yourself.”

If you can’t wait and would like to watch a video explaining CrossFit, see the video below.

The definition of CrossFit is  ”Constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement.” To dissect this we can split it up:

CONSTANTLY VARIED — Always changing the workouts and never letting your body adapt. This is why CrossFit is great for getting results. Your body never gets used to anything so you never reach those plateaus.

HIGH INTENSITY — This is where many misconceptions about CrossFit come into play. Many people think intensity is screaming and yelling and looking like you are going to pop a vein in your neck. This is not intensity, although it may sometimes be the result of intensity.  In basic language, power/intensity is how much weight you can move over the longest distance in the shortest amount of time while, of course, maintaining proper form and technique.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENTS —Movements that are natural and safe -- part of your every day life; movements such as squatting, lifting, carrying, etc. This is NOT standing on a Bosu ball performing bicep curls.  These are movements that promote neurological and hormonal responses which lead to better health, strength, actual core stability, agility, and flexibility.

CrossFit can be scaled to any body type, any age, and any level of fitness. It’s fun; it’s safe; and, best of all, it gets results. Call to schedule and appointment to experience it first hand with our free introductory class!
